We are a Maya & Indigenous led immigration legal services program. Our objective is to provide free and low-cost immigration legal services to Maya and Indigenous communities with representatives that have deep rooted Indigenous backgrounds and are competent in navigating Maya cultural practices, traditions, cosmovision and governance.
Our DOJ representatives are fluent in Maya Q’anjob’al, English and Spanish. Our unique position as a bridge between Western legal systems and Indigenous cultural practices enables us to offer legal services in a manner that is not only competent but deeply respectful of the cultural values and norms of the communities we serve. By doing so, we strive to facilitate legal support in a way that is culturally sensitive and inclusive, fostering trust and empowerment among those we assist.
